Project Homeless. The wandering of the circus.
The project Homeless aims to promote the European social circus in its modern variations as a peculiar cultural expression and as a means of social intervention. To this end the project aims to produce a circus-theatre show planned by four different partners coming from three European nations – Italy, Hungary, Poland – whose cast is composed by artists from the partner nations and other nations of the East Europe. The project purpose is to promote the exchange of artists circus across Europe, the spread in Europe of a new artistic production resulted from the creative dialogue of artists of different nationalities, and intercultural dialogue as an opportunity for enhancing the circus visibility and practical support on issues related to social exclusion.
Introduced for the EU Culture Program 2007-2013, the project gained the enthusiastic support of the European Commission, placing in the fourth place among over 500 proposals. Project Homeless has some important steps: the writing of the show, three workshops, the show rehearsal, its debut, a conference and the European tour of the show.
